Card Extra

Ferengi Bug from Allen Gould (12/1999)

See picture of Ferengi Bug.

Ferengi Bug doesn't fit into the usual dilemma categories. It's neither a filter, a killer, or a wall. But while it won't wipe out your opponent's personnel, it will give you a sneak peak into their hand for the next three turns. And what's better than seeing exactly what your opponent has up her sleeve?

Worried about someone countering your cards? Well, if she doesn't have a Kevin Uxbridge in hand, you can safely play your events. If they don't have any MEDICAL in hand, it might be handy to kill their last one on an "opponent's choice" dilemma.

To avoid having to "give up the goods", you'll need to stock an always-handy tricorder (along with a good dollop of SECURITY or the ever-vigilant Odo (DS9)) or rely on your FCA friends.

Combos:

  • Ferengi Bug + any important card you need played: it's always safer to wait until you know they can't counter it.
  • Ferengi Bug + the important card your opponent is trying to play: you'll have time to set up the exact counter needed to your opponent's strategy.
  • Ferengi Bug + Telepathic Alien Kidnappers: it's much easier to pick a card type when you can count how many of each they have.
