Card Extra Blood Screening from Evan Lorentz (11/02/2000) |

This method of exposing shape-shifting infiltrators is also one of the more potent weapons in an infiltrator's arsenal. Defensively, it's quite straightforward: play on the offending infiltrator, and three of your turns later, they'll be exposed. But what happens during that countdown may entice you to play Blood Screening on your own infiltrator. With this event, members of the infiltrator's crew or Away Team are placed under quarantine (an effect already proven quite deadly on cards like Hyper-Aging and Aphasia Device). What's more, they become "distrustful" of one another, and unable to pool their skills together for any purpose. Against nasty dilemmas with demands on specific skills (not just classifications), the crew or Away Team will have to provide them using a single personnel. Against something like Odo's "Cousin" or Emergency Conversion, that's just not likely to happen. Blood Screening combines nicely with other cards you can use on your infiltrator. For example, you can quarantine an opponent's crew aboard his ship long enough to get your own in place to hit it with an Inside Operation. Dial Martok for Murder will let you take out any powerful personnel that can single-handedly solve mission or pass dilemmas without pooling their skills with anyone else. Or if your shape-shifter is also an OFFICER or V.I.P., you can Issue Secret Orders so that your opponent won't be able to sit and wait for the countdown on Blood Screening to expire before going back to attempting missions. To top it all off, the card is immune to Kevin Uxbridge, so you need not worry that your opponent might disrupt your plans of disruption. Combos:
