A-koo-chee-moya. Here in this place, the vast uncharted regions of the Delta Quadrant, far from the sacred places of my ancestors, I call out to my spirit guide in the tradition of my people. I do hope that she will honor my request and come to me, for I find myself in need of self-examination - ah, there you are. Thank you for coming. Can you help me understand what I contribute to this Voyager crew? My enduring respect for the traditions of my ancestors, as well as my formal training in sociology and history, qualify me for Anthropology x2 and Archaeology. My strength of character and deep spirituality are reflected in my Honor. My personal charisma and decisive authority find expression in my Leadership skill. Although I can't match Mr. Paris, I'm a fair pilot in my own right, as shown by my Navigation. And while my STRENGTH 8 no doubt reflects in part my boxing skills, honed under Boothby's expert tutelage, I prefer to settle disputes with Diplomacy rather than with fisticuffs. I surely never planned to wind up as first officer aboard a Starfleet vessel lost in the Delta Quadrant, but I trust that my presence has served the crew and its captain well. The special meaning that I attach to an Ancestral Vision has been helpful to my shipmates on more than one occasion. When confronted with the Aggressive Behavior of a spaceborne creature, I can perceive the creature's motives and adjust my ship's own demeanor as appropriate. A little Civil Unrest doesn't ruffle me. Without boasting, I can truly say I'm a good man to have shipboard or planetside during a Crisis. I can even help to straighten out a Twisted situation. Even though my strengths lie in solving problems my crew might encounter in the Delta Quadrant, I'm by no means unable to help with the ship's primary missions. Whether we need to engineer a Prison Break or simply Restock Supplies when they run low, I'm handy to have as part of a team. It's true that I currently serve aboard a Starfleet vessel, but I've never forgotten that I once commanded my own ship while I was with the Maquis. I believe in Kath - that is, Captain Janeway's self-appointed mission to get the crew of Voyager - including its Maquis complement - back to the Alpha Quadrant. Yet I do retain a sense of independence, and could break away from Voyager's crew if circumstances dictated that I align - I beg your pardon. That sound, that klaxon, indicates that Voyager is in dire distress and requires my presence on the bridge alongside Captain Janeway. I thank you for your guidance. I am sure that I will soon have reason to appeal for your wisdom again. Combos:
