Mot's Useless Card Review #25: The Naked Truth |
Obviously, the main intent of this card is to provide a means by which to close your opponent's Q-Continuum. Wait for them to hit your Q-Flash, encounter The Naked Truth, and then stick them with Mortal Q. Well, that's certainly viable - but not terribly creative. After all, you can give ANY unique personnel card to your opponent with The Naked Truth. Surely there are some more choices? Here's a list to get your creative juices flowing: Galen Give Galen to your Federation opponent. They can't use him because he won't mix with Federation personnel - but at the same time, they now can't play Jean-Luc Picard (Prem) because of the persona rule. Deanna Troi (Prem) Same goes for Galen against Romulan opponents...if you can stick them with a Deanna Troi before they get to their all important Major Rakal, they'll be in poor shape. Unique Androids Graciously give your opponent a Data (Prem), Lal or Juliana Tainer. Then let them survive the Q-Flash and move on to the last dilemma you've seeded at the mission: Chinese Finger Puzzle. They're stopped, and you can swoop in on your turn and grab the points, free of dilemmas. Credit Jefferson Ludes-Meyers for two more great ideas (check out his card extra): Treachery Federation opponents won't be glad to receive the personnel with Treachery you stick them with... not when you play Incoming Message to force them to attack you. Konmel / Korris As long as you're planning to destroy your opponent's ship, why not put one of these two Klingons aboard it so that your K'Nera has something to show for his trouble? Just the tip of the iceberg. And as new expansions are released, the possibilities are bound to get better and better.... |
