Target Engines from Evan Lorentz (08/1999)

You might wonder why you'd ever want to use Tactic cards to inflict damage on an opposing ship's RANGE when you can do the same without using a battle side deck. Target Engines provides one answer. Above and beyond the reduction to RANGE that battle damage has always inflicted, this Tactic also takes "off line" any RANGE enhancements. Defiant Dedication Plaque won't work, and that stack of Plasmadyne Relays won't help your opponent run away from you.

Combos:

• Target Engines + Target Weapons: Cripple your opponent's ability both to run and to fight back.
• Target Engines + high-span missions: With enough damage to a ship's RANGE on a spaceline filled with high-span missions, getting back to a facility for repairs will be very difficult, if not impossible.
