Card Extra

Nilva from Todd Soper (01/17/2000)

See picture of Nilva.

Aside from Brunt, Nilva is the only other member of the FCA we currently have to choose from. However, since Nilva is universal, he is a virtually limitless source of that rare skill, and FCA does have a few functions in the game at large. It is one of the myriad requirements listed on Espionage Mission (Earth), and through HQ: Defensive Measures allows you to be able to attack your Ferengi opponents. The latter function is the most important aspect of FCA, since normally you would be unable to attack other Ferengi with your own, and that may be necessary if you want your Morn to help you draw extra cards at Quark’s Bar (he must be unopposed to do so), or to send your armadas up against Ferengi Trading Posts.

In addition to being able to download Nilva with the Writ of Accountability, he can also be downloaded with the 1st Rule of Acquisition along with a Gold-Pressed Latinum. Or, in the event that you'd rather use the Writ and 1st Rule for other personnel, Nilva can at the very least report for free to the Tower of Commerce. His Greed will help you to use him in conjunction with several of the other Rule events as well, and his Biology is a necessity in attempting planet missions to be able to pass the killer wall, Flaxian Assassin. In space, it can help to cure the crippling Aphasia Device dilemma.

Of all the Ferengi, Nilva is a good choice to have in multiples for two reasons: not only will you need him on every ship if you want to take your armada on a rampage against other Ferengi, but while you're at it stock several Vacuum-Desiccated Remains. This way, you'll have him if you need to attack, but if not then use him as dilemma fodder and get the most out of getting him killed several times!

Combo:

  • Nilva x5 + Vacuum-Desiccated Remains: Since Nilva is a VIP, he'll get you 3 card draws or Gold-Pressed Latinum when he dies. Why not get rid of killer dilemmas and make money for yourself at the same time!
