Card Extra Barry Waddle from Todd Soper (07/19/2000) |

|
If Barry Waddle were to be entered in the Guinness Book of World Records, he would most likely win the category for the Klingon with the longest-held grudge. Although he doesn't look a bit like his modern ridge-headed compatriots and has retained his human guise of years past, he is still a Klingon underneath it all. Therefore he is able to take advantage of those cards which affect or can be used by the Klingon species (such as I Am Not A Merry Man! Klingon Right of Vengeance, or Mek’leth). While skill-wise Barry tends to be an otherwise average Non-Aligned CIVILIAN, three things set him out above and beyond the rest: his [Orb] icon, his very powerful special skill and his special download. The very fact that he is Non-Aligned with an [Orb] icon means that all non-Borg affiliations can now take advantage of the power of the Orb Artifacts, from free reporting through the Orb of Wisdom to time traveling with the Orb of Time. You can also use HQ: Return Orb to Bajor to help him acquire the Orbs faster and earn some extra points and card draws. What was that you said? You say he nullifies HQ: Return Orb to Bajor?? Ahh, very true but it says he may nullify it; it is not required that he do so. And this brings me nicely to the next point. Returning Orbs to Bajor is a very powerful strategy that is very difficult to counter... unless you have Barry Waddle. Barry can keep your opponent from acquiring his Orbs too easily by making him have to solve his missions first rather than rely upon his HQ: Return Orb to Bajor to get them. Lastly, he can also special download a Tribble Bomb. Not only can Barry's download be used to facilitate the completion of Hero of the Empire, but it can also be used to try and take out a personnel of your choice (perhaps your opponent's key mission solver, or even a personnel of your own whom you'd like to kill for your own dastardly plans).
