Card Extra

Deep Space Station K-7 from Evan Lorentz (07/18/2000)

See picture of Deep Space Station K-7.

With their wide variety of powerful skills, the original series "main characters" in The Trouble With Tribbles expansion are immediate candidates for any Federation deck. Add in the [OS] icon versions of the DS9 characters, and the numerous secondary characters from the set, and you could start seriously considering a deck made of nothing but OS personnel.

Now imagine that all the cards in that deck, from the lowly (but brave) Lt. Grant right on up to Captain Kirk himself, have the possibility of reporting for free. It would be literally twice as fast.

Enter Deep Space Station K-7. Being a century behind the times, its SHIELDS are only half that of the average facility Ð but that's a fine trade-off for an incredibly strong function: it acts like a "headquarters" for Original Series cards, each turn allowing one OS icon card reporting at its location to report for free! Kirk, Spock, McCoy, Scotty, Sulu, Uhura, Chekov? All free. The Starship Enterprise (MM), Starship Constitution (MM), and Columbus? Free. All that Classic equipment? That's free, too!

Combos:

  • Deep Space Station K-7 + Q the Referee: Since Q the Referee makes Temporal Vortex a Referee icon card (and provides a way to download it), it's the perfect, seedable way to get your horde of 23rd century cards into the "present" to start solving missions.
  • Deep Space Station K-7 + Crew Reassignment: Play the Starship Enterprise (or the Starship Constitution), and throw down Crew Reassignment to allow the disguised versions of the DS9 crew can report directly to it. As long as the ship stays at the location of K-7, the station will let all of those guys report for free too!
