Emblem of the Alliance from Kathy McCracken (11/01/2000)

See picture of Emblem of the Alliance.

In the 24th-century Mirror Universe, the dominant power is the Klingon/Cardassian Alliance, which includes not only those two affiliations but also the Bajorans and some Ferengi. For all these groups to work together, some form of "treaty" is necessary, here represented by the seedable Emblem of the Alliance.

Instead of listing all the specific affiliations, the Emblem instead allows all cards identified by an icon as belonging to the Alliance to mix and cooperate. While this automatically restricts the "treaty" to Mirror Universe cards, a few "normal" universe Ferengi who crossed over and cooperated with the Alliance are also explicitly allowed to mix with your Alliance cards. As a bonus, the Emblem erases their affiliation-based attack restrictions - an important consideration when otherwise you could be cut off from attacking almost half of your potential opponents.

With most of your Alliance cards lacking homeworlds (and the free reporting to headquarters that those entail), the free reports allowed by the Emblem will be a distinct advantage in rapidly building up your crew. And freedom from worries about Reactor Overloads will let you process ore to your heart's content to draw those cards you want to report.

Combos:

  • Emblem of the Alliance + Process Ore + Overseer Mardel + Korvek: Keep those ore processors running at full speed; your reactor is safe.
  • Emblem of the Alliance + The Intendant: There are some Alliance personnel who aren't involved with The Intendant, but all in all, you're likely not to miss those headquarters at all.
