Card Extra Multivector Assault Mode from Sean O´Reilly (08/31/2001) |

One of the best ways to defeat an opponent is to deplete them of personnel, ships, and facilities through battle. There are two theories on how to destroy an opponent's forces in space. You can "bulk up" the attributes of a single ship using cards like Captain’s Log, Tactical Console, Plasmadyne Relay, System 5 Disruptors, or Kurlan Naiskos OR you can enhance your entire fleet using cards such as Metaphasic Shields, Nutational Shields, Bynars Weapon Enhancement, Defiant Dedication Plaque, or Wall of Ships. Either way you decide to attack, you can use Multivector Assault Mode to your advantage. The U.S.S. Prometheus can be used by either Romulan or Federation forces, so those two affiliations will have a slight advantage using this interrupt - but not by much. The Prometheus downloads the Multivector Assault Mode at the start of each battle. That's great for two reasons. First, it's not a special download so you'll be able to perform that action any number of times per game. Secondly, when you use the Prometheus you don't need to have the interrupt in your hand to give your ship attributes of 10-14-14 during the fight. Even if you're playing Kazon, Vidiian, Hirogen, or some other affiliation, you'll still be able to use this interrupt. Get it in your hand and then play it at the start of a battle. With three Hirogren Hunting Vessels and the Multivector Assault Mode you can get total WEAPONS of 32 - now that's some firepower using just six personnel and no matching commanders. Finally, a note about how powerful this card is in the Voyager Warp Speed Constructed format. Remember that all your non-Borg affiliations can work together and quadrant restrictions are ignored in this format. You'll be able to seed the U.S.S. Prometheus at your outpost and theoretically begin attacking with the Multivector Assault Mode on your first turn (assuming you reported a Federation personnel to run your ship). Combos:
