Card Extra

Dal’Rok from Evan Lorentz (07/1998)

See picture of Dal’Rok.

The gift that keeps on giving, Dal’Rok will continue to kill personnel every turn until the hefty requirements to nullify it are met. Without modification, INTEGRITY + CUNNING + STRENGTH > 150 will demand on average 7 or 8 personnel. No redshirts are going to muster that. Best of all, Dal'Rok targets the location as a whole, not just the Away team or crew attempting the mission. You can still kill off valuable personnel on your opponent's ship even if they were planning to sacrifice redshirts to your dilemmas (just make sure you don't have personnel present that might fall instead). Larger groups will be able to take out the Dal'Rok, but can then be brought down by later dilemmas, perhaps a Hippocratic Oath / Barclay’s Protomorphosis Disease combo, or even a simple The Higher... The Fewer.

Combos:

  • Dal'Rok + Duonetic Field Generator + a wall dilemma: Trap your opponent's Away Team on the planet with the Dal'Rok, unable to even complete their mission if they can't overcome your wall.
  • Orb Fragment + Dal'Rok + your opponent's facility: Place a Dal'Rok at your opponent's facility, and they'll have to "ferry away" anyone they don't want killed. That will leave them outside protective SHIELDS and vulnerable to your attack. Tired of your opponent fouling up your battle plans by downloading a phaser rifle, or Engage Shuttle Operations and an escape vessel? Does everyone you play against keep a Dathon in his Tent so your Shakas are worthless? Want to slow down an Assign Mission Specialists deck for a crucial turn? Does the prospect of your opponent turning a Kivas Fajo - Collector into three downloads for his Borg Queen (FC) get you down? All you need is a Computer Crash.
