Card Extra

Rescue Personnel from Kathy McCracken (07/1998)

See picture of Rescue Personnel.

If your Away Team gets stranded in the Gamma Quadrant, or at the Montana Missile Complex, sending a ship to rescue them may be a real nuisance. There are now several ways this could happen, with Hippocratic Oath, Love Interests, Mysterious Orb and Where’s Guinan? among them.

Playing this objective will make it a little easier to take, because you get the consolation of 5 points plus extra card draws. Stock some Wormholes in your deck (or use the Bajoran Wormhole), keep a high-RANGE no-staff-requirement ship at your facility with any suitable pilot and a Plasmadyne Relay for extra speed, and let them zip off to make the rescue while your main team works on another mission.

You might even try sending your own personnel on a deliberate Gamma Quadrant holiday. They can see the sights, solve a mission, and wait to be picked up.

Combos:

  • Rescue Personnel + Aid Fugitives: If your MEDICALs get relocated here with Hippocratic Oath, get some reward for going to pick them up. Maybe they can even solve the mission before they leave!
  • Rescue Personnel + Montana Missile Complex: Report your timeline-native personnel here, and get "paid" for picking them up to use in the 24th century.
  • Rescue Personnel + Iconian Gateway: By the time your personnel finish solving the planet mission you sent them to in the Gamma Quadrant, the rescue ship will be there, with backup personnel in case someone crucial gets killed, and ready to score points when you get home.
