Subspace Seaweed from Evan Lorentz (07/1998)

Of the different dilemmas that reduce the RANGE of a ship, this one stands out as being one of the hardest to cure. If you miss your shot at having 3 Navigation when you encounter the "Seaweed", you're stuck with it unless you have a Science Lab to beam it to (or Protouniverse comes along). If you're afraid of Abandon Ship! you basically can't attempt space missions with that ship any more!

Combo:

  • Subspace Seaweed + Wormholes + the Badlands Region: If your opponent's ship doesn't have 3 Navigation aboard, what better place for it than the Badlands? With their RANGE reduced, it will take them even longer to fly out. The Plasma Storms can probably claim them before that happens.
