Mot's Useless Card Review #57: Wolf |
For reasons of gender or points, there are a number of dilemmas that are "irrelevant" to the Borg, including Anaphasic Organism, Edo Probe, Female’s Love Interest, Male’s Love Interest, Matriarchal Society, Parallel Romance, Sarjenka, and The Higher... The Fewer. Considering that the Borg are required to "scout" planet locations with lone drones, this ability to discard a few dilemmas automatically helps balance things out a bit. Well, what if you could add 10 more dilemmas to that list: Armus - Skin of Evil, El-Adrel Creature, Hunter Gangs, Menthar Booby Trap, My First Raygun, Nausicaans, Punishment Zone, Q’s Vicious Animal Things, Rebel Encounter, and Yuta. All of these dilemmas will kill a personnel to random selection. Many of them require a high STRENGTH which a single Borg scout is not going to have. That death can be prevented by assimilating an opponent's Empathy personnel into your Collective (or by selecting Empathy as your Borg Queen (FC)'s skill). With an Empathy serving the Borg and an Interlink Drone in your hive, all of your Borg possess Empathy, and can be saved from death by the Wolf. You'll still be stopped in a number of cases for failing to overcome the dilemma, but you'll still have your Drone. As an added bonus to all affiliations, Wolf also nullifies Barclay Transporter Phobia. Still, in unlimited deck sizes, more Phobias are bound to show up from time to time. Perhaps animals are not so irrelevant to the Collective after all. :-) |
