Mot's Useless Card Review #74: Crystalline Entity |
This long-maligned card got a big boost from the Fajo Collection with the arrival of Lore. Lore's ability to double this dilemma's requirements (and point bonus) suddenly made it very nasty indeed. Players used to stocking SECURITY, MEDICAL and SCIENCE for a Barclay’s Protomorphosis Disease found themselves falling victim at planet missions on this card they'd never thought twice about. In space, 2 Music is almost totally out of the question for any non-Federation deck, and 13 SHIELDS out of reach for any non-Borg ship without enhancements. Now the Sealed Deck product has arrived, and Crystalline Entity just got that much more difficult. The nasty new Hippocratic Oath dilemma will take out a MEDICAL every time, and Unscientific Method is an almost-sure bet for removing SCIENCE. Either one is a great set-up at a planet mission for a Lore-enhanced Crystalline Entity. The strategy at space locations hasn't changed much. Just put Lore in your Q’s Tent and go get him as soon as you possibly can. Crystalline Entity won't have much of a punch in space without android backup. You didn't trade away all your Crystalline Entities, did you? :-) |
