Mot's Useless Card Review #75: Mot's Advice |
For those who haven't seen Review #5 from waaaaaay back when, that all still applies. A player bound and determined to get some mileage out of Mot and his Advice can use Terraforming Stations to revise the requirements of their missions to include the skill of Barbering. Things got a little more interesting when First Contact Expansion arrived on the scene. Suddenly all those "useless" old one-skilled personnel had been dubbed Mission Specialists, and they were showing up in most every deck to rack up the 5 point bonuses. Ironically enough, Mot’s Advice is one of the few ways to hamper this. By adding the skill of Barbering, this Event can revoke a personnel's status as a Mission Specialist. You can target any personnel with Mot's Advice, so just pick the most valuable of your opponent's Specialists and curse them with added knowledge. ;-) Tomek, fellow crusader for "useless" cards (and affiliations.... ;-) ), was quick to come calling when the Official Tournament Sealed Deck product arrived. Mot's Advice had been enhanced once more, again by a new objective. One of Reflection Therapy's functions is to change any one skill on a personnel to any other skill. Sometimes, you'll have a skill you don't mind giving up. Other times, the choice is not so easy. That's where Mot's Advice come in. You can add Barbering as an extra skill to any of your personnel, then use Reflection Therapy to convert that to any skill you wish. Sirol joining the Tal Shiar? Sure! Geordi La Forge (Prem) with Treachery? Why not? Dr. Reyga in the FCA? Why wait until the Ferengi affiliation shows up in force? And, of course, you never know what master plan Decipher has for the "useless" skill of Barbering down the road... |
