Lovok Founder from Kathy McCracken (01/1999)

At first glance, this looks like a dual affiliation personnel who is an instance of the Lovok persona, with a nice selection of skills for your Dominion deck. But a closer look reveals a few oddities: the "persona" name in his lore is italicized and his Romulan "affiliation" icon is diamond-shaped instead of round. What's going on here?

These apparent anomalies indicate that this Founder is an impersonator, not a true version of Lovok. So you can't do a persona replacement with him. Instead, you can do something even better. That diamond-shaped "infiltration" icon allows him, under certain circumstances, to infiltrate your opponent's Romulan crew. This could be bad news for your opponent.

Aside from his infiltration possibilities, he has a variety of extremely useful skills for dilemmas and missions, including one skill previously found only on "real" Romulans. His Tal Shiar skill is real enough to use for solving missions or any other situation requiring that skill.

Combos:

• Lovok Founder + Issue Secret Orders: Is your Romulan opponent avoiding that mission where you seeded your carefully crafted 5-dilemma combo? Let your infiltrator carry out his secret orders and "convince" them to attempt it anyway.
• Lovok Founder + You Dirty Rat: Once he's attempting the mission, perhaps you'll want to remove your infiltrator from danger from a particular dilemma (or temporarily remove his skills from the pool). No problem, just morph him into a rat.
• Lovok Founder + HQ: Defensive Measures: He doesn't have to be Romulan to use his Tal Shiar skill with this objective, to allow you to attack his own affiliation - i.e., a Dominion opponent.
