While the first named Science-class vessel is nominally a bit slower than the generic version, its built-in Phasing Cloak (available to other ships only with a Phased Cloaking Device artifact) can easily make up for that by enhancing RANGE to 11 when engaged. Add its matching commander, Mirok, for more potential attribute enhancements to make it the flagship of your Science Vessel fleet. And with no staffing requirements, it can dock at Docking Pads, download with Hidden Fighter and land or take off with Establish Landing Protocols. Combo:
