Including a ship with a Cloaking or Phasing Device has always been a good idea. It offers you protection for your key personnel, without fear of hostile aggression, be it Invasive Transporters or a staggering ATTACK total. Phasing even safeguards you from natural phenomena such as Supernovas! But one of the major drawbacks of Star Trek CCG stealth technology was that at some point you still wound up being vulnerable to your opponent or other possible spacefaring hazards such as the Borg Ship dilemma. Protection was never complete. With Scan Cycle Check it is. All you need is some Transporter Skill and your ships will appear out of nowhere, do their dirty deeds shrouded in a cloak of secrecy, only to vanish into the same oblivion they came from! Slipping behind enemy lines and intimidating armadas just became a walk in the park. If your opponent isn't observing Fair Play or hasn't taken any Defensive Measures you might even pick up some Mission points along the way! And... as a nice bonus Scan Cycle Check nullifies Scan and Full Planet Scan. Now, you don't want your opponent well-prepared for your carefully planned dilemma combos, now do you? My thoughts exactly! This secondary function rounds Scan Cycle Check off to a balanced multi-purpose card that will have its use in many a deck out there! Combos:
