Every player has been in that position where getting "just the right card" would help squeeze out a win in a really tight game. And every player has been put out for the count, unable to get that "one specific card" that would let help them turn things around.

Beyond the Subatomic is the answer. Aside from downloading (which of course, can't get everything) nothing else can drill through your deck to get to a card more quickly. Just name the card type you're looking for, and start digging. You'll have to discard from the top of your deck until you hit the type you named, but there are plenty of situations where that just doesn't matter.

Trapped on your outpost and need a ship? Search Beyond the Subatomic.

Blocked by a dilemma and need a hand weapon? Maybe the next equipment card in your deck is the one you're looking for.

Poised to win but for one missing skill? Take a chance that the next personnel in your deck will have it.

Beyond the Subatomic is really limited only by your willingness to risk losing cards from your deck before finding the right type. (And your willingness to risk a game loss if you don't find it at all.) But we've all been in games before where it would be well worth it.

Combos:

  • Beyond the Subatomic + Q’s Tent: Keeping this interrupt in your Q's Tent adds some flexibility to what you're keeping stored there.
  • Beyond the Subatomic + Kes: If you think Beyond the Subatomic is something you'll only use in an emergency, Kes is the perfect way to get it.
