Escape from a Kazon prison isn't very easy. You need to cause confusion and create diversions so your chances to "vanish" improve. Neelix and the Trabe, Mabus, used one of his people's grenades against the Kazon guards in 2372 to get find freedom. There are many dilemmas which target ENGINEER, MEDICAL, or SCIENCE people. That wasn't the case with personnel who have either Leadership or SECURITY before the Voyager expansion. Well... things have changed... A great use for the grenade is to create a combo with A Fast Ship Would Be Nice. One of the so-called "out clauses" on A Fast Ship is to sacrifice (discard) a bodyguard. Almost every bodyguard in the game has SECURITY and CUNNING < 8. So try to take out Telak, Ruk, or Maihar’du with the Trabe Grenade and then you'll be able eliminate who you want with A Fast Ship without that bodyguard "protection". Lots of planet missions require Leadership to solve them... including Contact Resistance, Covert Installation, Hunt for DNA Program, Restore Errant Moon, and Uncover DNA Clues. There are no interrupts like Senior Staff Meeting to discard a dilemma at planet-only missions. Therefore, you can be sure your opponent will have a Leadership personnel present at one of these missions to hit your Trabe Grenade if you force them to encounter Lack of Preparation first. Combos:
