Orb Negotiations from Kathy McCracken (07/1998)

Like Characterize Neutrino Emissions, this mission lets you seed any number of Orb artifacts here (but no duplicates). It's easy enough for the Bajorans to complete, either with a single [Orb] personnel or with the alternate Diplomacy x3 + [Baj] V.I.P., since the Bajorans have more V.I.P.s than you can shake a stick at, all with Diplomacy. Too bad they're the only ones that can take advantage of this mission. Or are they? Well, anyone can complete the mission if they create an [Orb] personnel with Orb Experience, and play an appropriate Espionage card (if one exists). Or you can play Cardassians. Orb Negotiations happens to take place on Cardassia Prime, the Cardassian homeworld. Just play HQ: Secure Homeworld, and complete the mission with the revised requirements, no [Orb] icons needed.

Combos:

  • Orb Negotiations + Kai Opaka: Completes the mission on her own, and then protects your precious Orbs from nullification.
  • Orb Negotiations + HQ: Secure Homeworld: Multiple Orb artifacts for the Cardassians without risking Borg Ship dilemmas (and maybe some captives, too).
