Mot's Useless Card Review #14: Temporal Narcosis

urSee prev. 'useless' reviewSee next 'useless' review

This card is a difficult one to use, because it has no active uses, only reactive ones.

You can get a double turn out of Temporal Narcosis if your opponent is playing a Horga’hn, Revolving Door, Emergency Transporter Armbands, or Energy Vortex. You sure don't see those last two cards don't see very wide usage. (But they're far from "useless," I think...) The Horga'hn does get played, of course, so you've got an option there.

But Revolving Door is the real key. Now that there are two new side decks and that migraine-inducing Manheim Dimensional Door to be closing up, Revolving Doors are finally starting to come out of the protective sleeves and show up in decks. I know there's at least one in most decks I build now. Anybody who has one is very likely to play it, too.

You might try one of these nasty set-ups: your opponent slaps a Revolving Door on you. You use Temporal Narcosis to take an extra turn, and then Kevin Uxbridge the Door later. Better still, play a Wrong Door to move that Revolving Door back over to one of THEIR doorways. Since they are still the one who played it, you can still play a Temporal Narcosis. That's right: slam their door shut, and take double turns for it! And get a hysterical picture of Captain Picard to boot! (This obviously is worthless against your friend who doesn't even HAVE Revolving Door, but might be highly useful - at least worth a Narcosis in the Q’s Tent - in a tournament situation.)
