Okay, I count exactly two uses for this card. One is obvious, but unnecessary. The other is devious, but unlikely.
- Obvious: use on one of your non-AU personnel to convert them to AU, allowing you to staff a ship with AU requirements (Future Enterprise, U.S.S. Enterprise-C, I.K.C. Fek’Ihr, Edo Vessel, Decius) or complete Fissure Research. Now, I know what you're thinking: "Why not just put an AU personnel in your deck to start with?" Well, I did say obvious, but unnecessary.
- Okay, the odds of this actually happening are about a million to one, but this is the nefarious use: your opponent is playing a ship with AU staffing requirements. They attempt a planet mission, encounter Alien Parasites, and they do not meet the requirements. (Or, in the case of Edo Vessel, you could play a Neural Servo Device if they have less than 2 SECURITY.) Now you are in control. Beam the crew up. Move next door to the space mission where you've seeded something special. Now, BEFORE you attempt it, make a casual remark about how extremely "cool" it is that you've taken control of their ship. The opponent will undoubtedly disagree. Give them a chance to change their mind. When they argue it's most definitely not cool, slap down the Parallax Arguers. Now you are able to play an Event on your opponent's turn. Play The Mask of Korgano, on (one of) the AU personnel that enables the ship to fly. Now, they are normal, and the ship can't move. Finish with a flourish by attempting the mission, where you encounter the Cytherians you seeded. VOILA! The ship returns to their control, absolutely immobile! Killer!
Hey, I never promised these reviews would reveal the combos no deck should be without; I'm simply on a mission to prove that EVERY card has a use. There is no such thing as a useless card. ;-)
