Mot's Useless Card Review #2: Edo Vessel

urSee prev. 'useless' reviewSee next 'useless' review

That incredibly sluggish ship from AU. Great weapons, great shields (considering they are only hit half the time!); it's too bad about that range. If only there were a way to fix that.

But wait, there is! Q-C gave us the Plasmadyne Relay! All you have to do is put two Plasmadyne Relays on the Edo Vessel, and suddenly it has a range of 9 - as fast as any Enterprise in your fleet. Better still, it has a shields of 12 that can only be hit 1/2 the time! That ought to be enough to make it the flagship of a battle deck or two.

As long as you're playing with the Edo Vessel, you might try to get some extra mileage out of it by playing two or three Worshippers in you seed deck. Only Romulan decks loaded with Galathons or the most die-hard Ferengi fans are likely to have a Greed that outweighs their Honor, and Anthropology is a skill only slightly more common than Barbering among often-played personnel. And no one's gonna play with an Edo Vessel, right?

So seed the Worshipers first, where they will be encountered last by your opponent's Away Teams. More often than not, you will stop their mission attempt after they've cleared out all the dilemmas for you, then you can beam in and steal the missions away from them. And in the meantime, if you want to attempt a mission where you seeded a Worshiper, all you have to do is bring your Edo Vessel to orbit the planet, and it's no problem!
