Card Extra Operate Wormhole Relays from Kathy McCracken (01/1999) |

This seedable hidden agenda objective combats a major abusive strategy, that of Wormholing your opponent's ship to the Gamma Quadrant or to Montana Missile Complex, from where he may not be able to return. While having no effect on his ability to use Wormholes to move his own ships, if your opponent decides to send you on a field trip to Montana, you simply reveal this objective. The Wormhole remains open at fixed locations, making your return to your original location a simple matter of using 3 RANGE. While that may be a nuisance, it is a mild one compared to being stuck in Montana, and not much of a benefit to your opponent in terms of stalling you. If your opponent was counting on Palor Toff-ing his used Wormholes (or even better, his Space-Time Portals used for the "second wormhole") for replaying, he's out of luck. If you can make use of the permanent Wormhole openings (they might be more convenient than a Bajoran Wormhole if you actually wanted to go the Gamma Quadrant), you are free to do so. Of course, so is your opponent, who might be Wormholing you in hopes of setting up a Wormhole network that he can use. A risky move, because all you have to do is place the Wormholes out-of-play - preferably while he is on the wrong side of them. In addition, downloads of the Bajoran Wormhole may not be prevented or nullified. Since the Gamma Quadrant end of the Bajoran Wormhole comes into play via a download, this will keep your opponent's Computer Crash from delaying your opening of a passage to the Gamma Quadrant.
