Implication from Joeri Hoste (05/09/2001)

See picture of Implication.

Implication is one tough cookie. Instantly it replaces Shaka, When The Walls Fell as the primary Diplomacy-related wall. Definitely no one will be breezing through this one on turn one.

Your opponent will need to dedicate either considerable or precious resources to passing Implication whih leaves you with ample opportunity to go in for the kill. Set up a filter first to let them wrestle with Implication that much longer or use it to force them to amass personnel, only setting them up for the killer dilemma that follows it. How about going for Diplomacy and Law deprivation? Have your Tantalus field zap every personnel with that skill while you combine Implication with Blended, Anaphasic Organism & Nagilum, or Armus - Sticky Situation.

Each affiliation in the Voyager environment only has about three servings of Diplomacy (not counting Delta Qudrant Spatial Scission) and the entire current environment only has three Law personnel. That makes Implication a prime choice for your Voyager deck, let alone your Warp Speed deck!

Combos:

  • Implication + Denevan Neural Parasites + Shaka, When The Walls Fell: Kill off some diplomats only to require some more; bringing Disruptor Rifles won't help them either.
  • Implication + The Swarm + The Cloud: When you go hunting for sitting ducks, why not make the hunt worthwhile?
